Maybe I'm adopting Robyn's interests

"The Way It Was: Memories of My Childhook at Grand Traverse Lighthouse" by Bette McCormick Olli.

We toured this lighthouse last summer.  This is a pamphlet similar to ones you can only buy at Laura Ingalls Wilder's homesites, like Story of the Ingalls.  It's interesting if you are interested in history or the Grand Traverse area.  The author, an amatuer, was pretty good.  I enjoyed it since I could picture the different planter, fog signal house, etc. that she mentions.

Or not, she could care less about the Olympics

"Let the Games Begin"  A sport by sport preview with pull out cards that show when every event is taking place.  Focuses on the USA team, of course it's put out by the US Olympic Comittee.  Nice photos.  No mention of pair, except Ino and Zimmerman are the top US competitiors.  This was written before "the Canadain pair", "the Russian pair" were known outside of figure skating circles and "the French judge" held no special meaning.  And of course, they don't mention most of the surprise medalists and sentimental favorites that make a mark at each Olympics.  Though kudos go to them for mentioning Sarah Hughes as a medal contender while some people were considering her an "also-ran" of the team.

Well there is snow on the ground...

"The Huskies and the Christmas Fawn" by H M Young  I bought this to benefit a husky rescue group so this is a good buy no matter what.  It's a cute telling of how a team of Siberians rescue one of Santa Claus's missing reindeer.  And there's a twist.  There's a fawn with it with a pink glowing nose - I wonder who it could be?  It's mentions some of the dogs are from over the rainbow bridge, and they return with different harnesses.  I wonder if they are supposed to be silver ones?

oops I do have more Sweet Valley books

Senior Year 27: Playing Dirty - Ken is being an okay QB - wasn't he fantastic the year before.  Will is psycho and Melissa, also.  And Tia has decided to fix Andy up so she can avoid admiting she has no life.  Why do I care about these people?
