December 26th

Days comment:  After "dying" twice in the past couple years and leaving his wife twice, how can anyone not question it when he dies again?

I went shopping today.  Just a shirt, Christmas cards for next year, and I spent a gift certificate I received at Family Christian.  I started reading one of the books.  Let me vent here: (hey, it's my blog - by definition isn't it my place to vent?)  Why is dating considered such a bad thing in so many Chritian circles?   There is no where in the Bible where it says that God is going to give us anything let alone a spouse while we sit around twiddling our thumbs.  There are several places where it says God will bless those who plan.  And why is being poor in the country such a good thing?  Get this, maybe people who don't have to drive two hours to go to the store, I don't know, might have time to serve God or have money to allow others.  Sue me, I'm a child of the eighties mall.  Quite frankly, I enjoy it.

I'll sign off now before I bore anyone reading this to much.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!

It's finally here.  And I don't have to go to work until Tuesday.  Tomorrow is Koti's first Chritmas with us!  I hope your Christmas is great.

I am still tired from Winter Fest last night.  With no good reason.  It was cute, kinda kiddie but still nice.  And I sooo beat everyone in Scooby's Haunted Castle

Jean (with 'flashlight troubles) 150

Mom 250

Dad Right 310

Dad Left 520

Me 1050 - yes I am awesome

KI should add back the store where little kids can shop without adults.  Too cute.  And open the International Restaurant for everyone not just company parties.

Bye gotta go check my email!

Winter

Happy First Day of Winter!!

I sent out my email Christmas cards just before.  Last year I sent them out while I was waiting for Provident to finalize the check numbers since we were buried under 18 inches of snow.  It seemed well received so I thought I'd try it again.

Tomorrow I'm going to King's Island's Winterfest.  That was so much fun when I was little!  I'm hoping it will be just as much fun.  I asked Al if they were going to freeze the fountain on International Street.  He said yes and that a lot of people have been asking that.

I put a prologue to a Dirty Dancing story on fan fiction.net  I just got one comment. "This is really bad, etc."  Except in three sentences the person misspelled about 7 words.  I guess it wasn't updated quickly enough for a teenybopper.

I'll get off of work early.  Yes!  And I finished all my recs at work. Double yes!  Talk to you later.

Talk about Not gettin anywhere

Woke up this morning, I have a little bit of a sore throat, runny nose & headache.  Raise your hand if you think I'll have a cold by Christmas.  Of course the only Christmas I wasn't sick was the year Koly bit me.

So I decided to take the bank run and get home a little early.  Veg and hope not to get a full fledge cold.  So I left at 3:45.  I should have been home by 5.  I75 was closed part of the way.  Many seeminly unending backroads later I was in a long line at the bank with the tellers seeing how slow they could be.  I got home at 6:20.  Release a deep breath.

I downloaded pictures from my camera.  One good thing!  I figured out how to burn the files to a disk without yelling "Dadddyy"!  So then I started to load them to webshots.com (Check them out!)  I got the Riverfest, President's cup baseball game, Ichthus, Koti pictures, Michigan pictures, and the last two things I crossstiched pictures uploaded.  I just had my Laura Ingalls Wilder and Lamplighter pictures.  The LIW pictures were the ones I was really trying to upload so I could share them with the Frontier Girl message board. I selected 40 pictures.  Typed 40 descriptions.  Clicked upload, and 39 pictures and descriptions disappeared.  Pitiful sigh.  I think I'm going to go to be and hope tomorrow is better.

TGI...S?

Caryn Kadavy is not skating to 'Tango Italiano" Cool.  17 years after she got sick at the Olympics, she's still skating.  Not a bad career.

I really, really find Oksana Biaul & Alexei Yagudin incredibly over-rated.  Though Kurt is "Skate god for life"  He has incredible talent & just has such fun routines.

I got off of work at 1 today.  Did you ever feel like you are doing the same thing day, after day, after day, after day, after day without getting anywhere?

Went to dinner with Laura tonight.  Then we went back to her house and watched the newly released He-man and She-ra Christmas special.  Just so cheesy and fun.  Watch it.  This picture is from He-man.org.

I'm addressing Christmas Cards tonight.  Let me know if you want one.  Guess where I got these from?

I have over 100 views of this page!  Let me know who you are!  There's a little comment button at the bottom of this.  Use it!

Where does the time go?

Gee, I've been meaning to write more often, but I've had so much email that I don't have time by the time I finish reading it.  See I get email from the Skatefans yahoo group.  There can be 75 - 200 email a day.  Yeesh, that's a lot.

So I got back from Nashville.  It was fun.  Saw Jessica Simpson at my company Christmas party.   Better than expected.  Finished Christmas shopping.  Got the woman at work who hates Christmas two ornaments.  He he.  I know bad, but hey she hates me anyhow.

I have to write Christmas cards.  This would be easier if I hadn't lost my Christmas card list when my computer died last winter.

Can you believe it's only 8 days until Christmas?

Back to the everyday

The news didn't start out tonight with "Breaking News" of a shooting in some part of the city.  With the frequency they happen, I think the news should have "Breaking News" when - "This just in so far today we have not, we repeat have not, had a shooting in Over the Rhine or the West End!"  If it happens every night is it really breaking news?

My dog is being a pain.  He won't come inside for breakfast.  He hasn't had breakfast in over a week.  I've had to drag him in every night for dinner.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

I went to Berean's after Thanksgiving sale Friday.  I bought "Emma ever after".  I finished the book yesterday.  It was really good.  I like the new Christian chick-lit.  I do some of the things I do.  Maybe it's not exact.  But I'm more likely to curse and feel a twinge of guilt than have a moral objection to wearing slacks.  So many Christian novels are to goody-goody.  Like at the National Youth Worker's Convention, several jokes ended with "being forced to watch the Left Behind movies."  There a way to kill an evening, but I swear: Get out of the burning building, then share how to become a Christian.  It just seems stupid otherwise.

I have to go back to work tomorrow.  Again it's a day to day thing about whether or not, I tell some people where to go and what to do to themselves once they get there.

Week before Thanksgiving

I'm on vacation. Yay!  The house is completely decorated for Christmas.  Which is a lot of work.  I'm watching Days - Alex is going to be Roman.  It doesn't make sense otherwise.  And why is John so skeptical of someone who was presumed dead, but not  isn't that every character on the show?

Tuesday night I went to the Miami football game.  a two hour rain delay.  And then the game started in pouring rain.  I left 10 minutes into the game.  We were down by 18 points!  Three safeties in the first half.  One wasn't Richardson's fault.  But wow, I hope Parsegehian can pass him on the depth chart next year.  Okay, I don't know he can play, but Jaren and Ara seemed to do pretty good.  And I shouldn't ever have to watch Betts as a starting quarterback again.  I know he's not Big Ben, but really truly, Mike Bath was a better quarterback.  The stats don't show the truth.

I leave tomorrow morning for Nashville.  The main sessions are going to be held in an ice rink.  Doesn't that sound cold?   I still have to pack.  Hey we don't leave for 17 hours and 19 minutes.

Last night I want over to meet some friends new twin daughters.  For infants, they're cute, I guess.  Maybe I'll be a better judge when I have my own kids, but now they all look pretty much a like to me.  Their dog sat on my foot and I spent more time petting her than holding the babies.  Yes, you're laughing now - that is so me.  I like dogs better than kids.  Sue me.

The weekend

I'm watching the Days retrospective on Soapnet.  It's really quite funny.  And to think that how short most acting jobs are - these people have had jobs for 20 years!

I went to Palomino last night.  The view used to be better - before the city decided to sink 40 million into a pink elephant.  You know people will ignore the nightly murders if the fountain is centered on the square.  They ran out of gas to toast the top of my creme broulee.  So they paid for my dessert!  I had cheesecake instead.  One huge piece of good cheesecake.  I had the lobster ravioli with tarragon with a tarragon sauce.  It was very good.  It seemed like the pasta was made from scratch with butter.  Yeah, I'm so used to nice restaurants as you can tell.

I can't believe Christmas is so closeUsually by now I'm finished with my Christmas shopping.  And this year, I'm only about half done.  It's early, but we are putting up the tree this week.  I have a few days off before I go to Nashville.

Wednesday

I'm watching a game on tv that's taking place 20 miles from here.  But there's not a whole lot on tv.  Except UC in the dark.

I'm just kinda eh.  I'm here I want to post an entry but I don't have much to say.

Oh work today, Don't you love it when you have to explain the same thing month every month to someone who's supposed to know more than you?  I'd say he really doesn't know as much as me.

Last comment: I have the two cutest dogs around.

TGIF, well, T

Ohh!  I just typed out six paragraphs, highlighted it to change the font.  And accidently deleted it all.  I want to whine now.

I mentioned that I want to use the flag smileys that I have on IM.  They're cute.

And I was enjoying that I'm at the start of a 4 day weekend.  We're going to Chattanooga to eat where Rachel ate on $40/day.  Laugh, but you mention it and all sorts of people say they watch her too.  Then I was talking about how we rough it camping in the 32 foot trailer with WIFI, cable, sewer, electric & water hookup.

I'll talk to you later, I don't feel like mentioning my feelings about the Cincinnati mayorial election.

Friday

West beat East.  You know I really don't feel any connection to either school, but I would have loved to been at the game.  Great rivalry, see a lot of people, and the game went to overtime!

I've been getting up at 4:15 all week so I could be in the office at 6 everyday so I could work for an hour before I go to a training seminar.  That's exhausting after, oh, the second day.  But I survived.  It was interesting, though I thought I had left 8am internal audit lectures behind when Miami gave me my diploma.  Actually, I really hoped I had left such things behind.  I know I'm an accountant, but really it's not that interesting.  I also enjoyed the part where the executives mentioned they knew none of us grew up saying, "I want to work in insurance".  Yeah, that's pretty true.

I complain about my social life all the time (what social life?).  Like tonight I went to dinner with one of my college roommates, and was home by 7:00. But then I was online and checked out Ben Roethlisberger's site.  (I'm a Miami grad.  When I left Lakota, they wouldn't let us out until we agreed that Keith Gregor was a god.  Well, Miami does the same thing with Ben.)  The famous rich NFL player evidently spent his Friday night carving a pumpkin with his dog.  Check it out in his blog.  I'm linking to the site on the side of this.  I guess my life is not that bad.

Work

I try to steer away from commenting on work.  But I'll say two things:

1.  If it was fun, they wouldn't have to pay someone and they wouldn't call it work.

2.  I am so not paid enough.  (and I just got a raise)

Saturday

Wow! Miami beat Akron 51-23. I guess I'm not going to critize how they played today. Though I have to say the refs were awful. Erica armed to go with me. A good first time.

Blitzen won't come in He didn't want to come in at supper. He hid under the stationary tub. Then when we ate supper, he climbed onto the couch back with her back paws and put his front paws on the window sill. I don't know what has gotten into him !

Get used to me only reading one chapter of a book before picking up another. I started reading" Highland Legacy" It's one of the 4 novellas in one boots that Christian bookstores sell. They are good some are pretty goody-goody-trough this one starts outtalking about free Newsboys tickets. Thats a good start. at least the author has good choice in music !

Look a like

Okay, since I'm not sure of the rules about this.  The picture of Austin Peck came from nbc.com & the picture of Micheal Weiss is from usfigureskating.com.

Is it just me or do these two look a like?  I've mentioned that I love Days, well I also love to watch figure skating.  BTW, go Timothy make the Olympic team and win another medal.

Almost Friday!

Tonight I'm trying to do this by IM. We will see how this works as an option. I started reading "Christmas with Anne" by L M Montgomery tonight. I know it's early, but it's really good.

I left work on time tonight!!!  Well my boss is on vacation today.  So my manager came in late, left early, and took an hour and a half lunch.

I remembered this afternoon what I was going to say last night but I forgot again.  Maybe I'll remember later.

Laura Ingalls Wilder

I just wrote my opinion of chapter 5 of: Becoming Laura Ingalls Wilder on the Frontier Girl message board. I've it It is my absolute favorite website. Everyone there lines LW as mush as I do. We are Kindred spirits! and they understand that Anne of Green stables reference....

I'm going total a few more people about this. Hopefully, they will leave comments.  (Hint, Hint)

Is it Friday yet?

Inst, I like Rachel Ray. Its' nice to see someone who talks with her hands more than Ido. Really! :)

Second, does anyone want to go to a MU football game with me on Saturday? How wouldn't think it would be this hard to find someone to use a free ticket :(

Third, this laptop has a stylus that I can use as a mouse 0r I can write on the screen and it recognizes my handwriting Really, Really it can! And my handwriting is horrible. I love it. It is a lot of fun to do. Either that or I like my newest toy.

Sunday

First note: Come on Bengals!! You have to beat the Marshall quarterback!

Second: I know we are supposed to honor the Sabbath, but that doesn't work so well.  Several months ago my church messed with the starting time.  It's now at 11:15.  Basically, halfway through the day.  You get up, you get dressed, you wait around doing nothing until you can leave so that you don't mess up your outfit.  You go to church, you go to lunch.  It's now 1:30 when you get home to change clothes.  Except today when I had to go directly to a baby shower.  So fun because I am so not a baby (or toddler for that matter.  If your relative is under 12 please do not show my pictures more than once every six months.  I so need to start carrying pictures of Blitzen to show people.) person.  Then I have youth group from 6 - 8.  I get dinner on my way home, by the time I finish.  I have about an hour before it's time to get ready for bed.  I have to honor the Sabbath because I have no time to break it.  I realize it's a good thing, but I don't like the the absense of free choice.  I like being in control of my own life.

Movies

Does it seem like I talk about movies a lot here?  I never meant to, but hey why not.  I'm watching Legally Blonde.  That is such a fun movie.  Last night, I went with Erica to see Just Like Heaven.  It's a funny and cute movie.  It seems lik Reese Witherspoon is one of my favorite actresses, or I like most of her movies.  But then Ashley Stockingdale says the same thing.  Have you heard of Ashley Stockingdale?  She's the main character in "What a Girl Wants".  It's a book by Kristen Billerbeck. There are two sequels.  It is a fantastic story.  I so identify with her about almost everything possible, except we have different opinions about swords and weddings.  She's a Christian, but superficial about so many things.  You know more familiar with People magazine the "My utmost for His highest."  Has a dog.  Loves clothes.   Would love to be married.  Not thrilled about the lack of  choices out there.  See me?

Movies

www.futuremovies.co.uk  The picture is from this website.  I don't know if I need to post that.  I am watching this movie.  It really is my favorite.  It's so light hearted and just fun.  I've read that one of the fun parts of this movie is that out of your group of friends you can cast the movie.  That is so true, because I am so Pudge - on every leval.  I'm not going to tell the entire internet how, but watch it and you tell me.  And I can add when I told Kara - well I've known her since jr. high and I've never seen her turn THAT shade of red before.  What character do you relate to the most?

Colds and Viruses

I woke up this morning with a headache and a Sore throat. I don't really have the patience right now to be sick.  I did get off early today for an appointment. GOOD NEWS .Iam in perfect health! Well, I guess It's just another thing that I'm perfect at. Joking!! Right?  There were a bunch of things I was thinking of saying, and now I've forgotten them.

Rain

Last night was so much fun with the lights going on and off, while they're off I was trying not to think of the murderer on the loose.

Now I'm watching Days.  I really think this is one of the most amusing shows on tv.  I like how Phillip got a new leg yesterday, now he can do stairs.  And his wife doesn't know if she's pregnant with his or his nephew's baby.  I swear real life is never like this.  Though I do love how people are always playing "chicken" with each other on soaps.  You know see who gives in first?  I think that happens so often in real life.

I'm memorizing this verse. Let's pray the people of Houston feel this.  After all they've done, they should be protected from Rita.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."

Weekend

I'm watching the Bengals game.  It's hard to get used to them being good.  But it's nice to not be the joke of the sports world anymore.

And online I'm watching the Steelers game.  As a Cincinnatian it's hard to root for them.  However, as a Miami alum, I can't help enjoy how well Ben is doing.

I worked on my scapbook all last night.  You should start working on a scrapbook before September for the year.

Laura, you are commenting on my spelling?

Restaurants & She-ra

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=4120

Go to this website!  December 6th, the He-man & She-ra Christmas special is being released on DVD.  Ye-hah!  She-ra was one of my two favorite cartoons as a child.  Do you know the other?  I am excited! When do you think the rest will be released?

Next tried The Cheesecake Factory tonight.  It was very good.  And now I am very thirsty.  Got there at 5:30 and a line was already forming.  It was good, but I'm not sure it lived up to what I built it up to be in my mind.  However, I brought 2 pieces of Boston Cream Cheesecake home for Mom and I.  I may change my mind.

Computers

Ever want to throw your brand new laptop through the window?  I bought a Nancy Drew computer game tonight and have tried unsuccessfully to load it three times.  Then I've tried to load my Laura Ingalls homesite pictures to Webshots with mouse problems.  This was after the mouse froze and I had to undock the computer and remove the battery to get done.

On the upside, I've gotten several good reviews on my Dora of the Island fan fiction.  Yeah!

Writing

I've put a link over to the side to get to my listing at fanfiction.net.  There are so many good stories of there that I've been inspired to try it myself.  Read, review, be gentle.  I hope people like it.

Photos

Good Evening,

One of these days I'll get my pictures burned to a CD and can load them up here.  In the meantime, I have a bunch of pictures on webshots.  I need to put my pictures in my scrapbook.  I have so many projects to do.  I hope to someday finish some.  Maybe I could just quit my job and stay home and scrapbook & crossstitch.  Yeah, I know that will probably not fly, but a girl can dream.  Hey, if anyone out there reads this leave comments.

Monday

Don't you love Mondays?  Why doesn't AOL have the choice of tired?  I got up late, forgot to take something for my boss's birthday (lucky Servati's is near by), then packed my exercise clothes and walked off without them.  Now I know I should be cleaning off my desk, but I'm typing here.  Let me know when it's Friday...

MYF

I had youth group tonight.  I know some people wonder why I keep doing this, but I really enjoy it.  It's amazing to watch these seventh graders come in who are just little kids, and then become these adults who are ready to make a difference for Christ in this work six years later.  Good luck Alsquared in college!
And I come home with energy to face the coming week.

One play

They missed an 18 yard field goal after blowing a lead.  I knew Josh Betts wasn't Ben Roethlisberger, but Sam Rickets would be nice.  Miami would pick the year I decide to get season tickets to be horrible.  Second game of the season and I believe now mathmatically eliminated from a bowl game.  Yeah!

Okay, I am a little obsessed with football.  But how often is it socially acceptable to yell, "We're going to beat the , uh, heck out of you!"  It's stress reducing!

And I got to take Scott and Lauren, two of my favorite college freshman, to lunch.  It was fun.  And reminds me that we never grow up.  That age group decides what is cool, and not matter how old we get we want to fit in with them.

Now I'm off to put aloe on my sunburn...

TGIF

www.miamihawktalk.com Can you believe it's Friday? Yesterday afternoon seemed to take forever, but now it's the weekend. It seems like Labor Day just ended. Tomorrow the Redhawks celebrate homecoming against the Chippewas. I hear we are 22 point favorites. Hopefully, I won't be posting about how the game was as embarassing as the one against OSU last weekend. Talk to you later when I wake up more...

Thursday, September 8, 2005

Hello

Hello,

I'm going to try this.  We will say what I decide to say and see if anyone finds this interesting.  Maybe I'll tell my friends.  We may add my comments on so many things but right now I'm not sure what.  I'll let you know.

Talk to you later,

L
